ROOT CAUSE OF OUR PROBLEMS IN A DEVELOPED CAPITALIST SOCIETY TODAY
Pursuit and an all-consuming desire for money has resulted in an unbalanced individual today. A “me, me, me” society and a massive division between rich and poor.
All this has been aided and abetted by weak and ineffective government and politicians who rather than seek to find the cause have “gone with the flow”.
Examples. In real life for me in 2024/2025 are as follows: -
a) Queen Victoria Market. I act pro bono for a stallholder whose family have been at the market continuously for 57 years.
The Melbourne City Council and Victorian Government have no money. They have got into bed with big developers and are redeveloping and planning a whole new community living in the precinct between Elizabeth Street, Victoria Street, Peel Street and Therry Street in Melbourne without any consultation with the stallholders.
And the worst result for the stallholders is that they are being forced out of the market by Melbourne City Council by unconscionable and reprehensible conduct.
With a massive redevelopment taking place many stallholders have suffered financial losses, but no offer of compensation has been made to any of them.
I act for a stallholder who has been savagely dealt with by the Melbourne City Council. A structure is in place to provide compensation to those stallholders “financially affected to their detriment” by the redevelopment – but my client stallholder has been told he needs to wait until his court case is determined before any compensation will be paid.
b) I have been personally scammed by “cryptocurrency investors” in 2023. Once bitten twice shy.
Facebook has sent from April 2024 to December 2024 many persons I accepted as my Facebook friends. Everyone of them over various times sought by the deception and dishonest conduct to “lure me to invest” with their successful techniques with cryptocurrency investments.
I have established the following: -
Facebook uses algorithms to lure good but susceptible people to bad and dishonest people.
The bad and dishonest peoples successful technique is to “invest” in Bitcoin in a three minute or less term.
If I had played the “game” I would have been one of a number of “suckers” who followed in after my dishonest Facebook friend directed them to either buy or sell at a particular time immediately after they had placed their investment.
My Facebook friends made a profit almost always if such friends had a high number of followers.
This is simply criminal conduct - obtaining money by deception.
Both these examples exhibit conduct by an unbalanced individual. In the first instance it is financial bullying which should result in a penalty imposed on the Melbourne City Council and compensation in the end to the stallholder.
And the second is criminal conduct that increasing numbers of young people are doing “today” to supplement their incomes and pay bills.
Money and a compulsive desire to get as much money as one can with little work is the cause of our many problems in our developed capitalist society today.
It is this social attitude to money and the consequent lack of respect of other persons in our society that are the deep seeded root causes of todays many social problems including domestic violence and depression and other mental health issues.
What is needed today are better balanced individuals who with a good education pursue a passion and have a thirst for knowledge and desire to be intelligent and worldly individuals and who live with respect for other persons Rights have been taught in our education system over the last 20 or so years as though they are absolute. The are not. They always should be balanced against obligations or in everyday life respect for other persons.
